                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal" dir="auto" data-sourcepos="27:1-27:1295;4471-5765"><strong>Erwin Schrödinger (1887–1961)</strong>, Austrian physicist and 1933 Nobel laureate, formulated the wave equation that bears his name in 1926 — the central equation of non-relativistic quantum mechanics, describing how the quantum wavefunction of a system evolves over time. Schrödinger built directly on de Broglie's matter-wave hypothesis, turning it into a full mathematical formalism. Famously, Schrödinger himself was never comfortable with the standard (Copenhagen) interpretation of his own equation — his "Schrödinger's cat" thought experiment (1935) was originally meant as a <em>criticism</em> of the idea that a quantum system exists in superposition until measured, not an endorsement of it. He favored a more realist, wave-centric reading of quantum mechanics, which is precisely the thread that later researchers — de Broglie, Bohm, and eventually Milo Wolff's Wave Structure of Matter — picked up and extended. Wolff's 2008 book on WSM is even titled <em>Schrödinger's Universe</em> in acknowledgment of this lineage. For this forum, Schrödinger represents the mathematical backbone connecting "everything oscillates" (de Broglie) to a full physical theory — and his own late-life philosophical writings increasingly explored unity and interconnectedness in ways that echo harmonics-theory thinking.</p>
