A number of the macros such as Usc make use of the low numbered files such as F1, F2 etc. It is recommended that you do not use file numbers 1 to 9 for your own use. The message that you get indicates that CATS found something in F1 and does not think that it should overwrite it. Please delete any cats files in range 1-xxx.cats to 9-xxx.cats and it should work.

Remote possibility - you have set CATS to &N1 to create file names on all files. In this case set &N0 to stop doing that. You can tell what all & settings are by doing & command.
